Arrival Srinagar → Pahalgam (1 night)
Arrive at Srinagar Airport and transfer directly to Pahalgam (90 km, ~2.5 hrs). En route stop at Awantipora Ruins. Check in at hotel. Optional afternoon visit to Betaab Valley — open meadow, river, perfect for kids to run around. Easy, relaxed first day.
Pahalgam → Gulmarg (1 night)
Morning horse riding at Pahalgam for children, riverside walk for adults. Drive to Gulmarg (~140 km, 3.5 hrs). Afternoon: Gondola Phase 1 to Kongdoori for panoramic views and snow. Horse riding in the meadow bowl for children. Overnight in Gulmarg.
Gulmarg → Sonamarg → Srinagar (houseboat night)
Morning at Gulmarg (Gondola Phase 2 optional for adventurous family members). Drive to Sonamarg (~130 km via Srinagar, 3.5 hrs). Thajiwas Glacier walk/pony ride — children's highlight. Srinagar — Dal Lake & Mughal Gardens (hotel)
Early morning: sunrise Shikara ride from the houseboat — floating market, lotus gardens (season-dependent). Breakfast on the houseboat deck. Check out and move to Srinagar hotel. Afternoon: Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, and Tulip Garden (if in season). Evening Boulevard walk.
Srinagar City Sightseeing & Shopping
Visit Hazratbal Shrine, Shankaracharya Temple (panoramic Srinagar views — accessible by steps, accessible path available for seniors), and Pari Mahal. Afternoon: Lal Chowk and old city bazaars — Kashmiri handicrafts, Pashmina shawls, saffron, and dry fruits. Evening relaxed by the Boulevard.
Departure from Srinagar
Final breakfast. Optional last Shikara ride (early morning — children's favourite repeated activity). Transfer to Srinagar Airport for departure. Carrying memories that every generation will recount differently — and all of them fondly.
